Fürs Leben gelernt...?

Unsere Kinder müssen erstaunliche Leistungen in der Schule vollbringen. Afrikaans lernen zum Beispiel - mit Kindern zusammen, die das schon seit vier oder fünf Jahren lernen. Oder Zulu. Blockflöte und Cricket....
Jaja...man lernt halt in der Schule nicht für die Schule, sondern für das Leben. Und diese Dinge werden ja bestimmt noch einmal sehr wichtig in ihrem Leben sein!

Eine großer Herausforderung war auch die Free-Speech Übung, die Dario und Luca bewältigen mussten: Jedes Kind musste vor der Klasse einen 2-3 minütigen Vortrag zu einem selbstgewählten Thema frei halten. Dario sprach über die Seen in Südafrika. Luca hatte sich das Thema: Missverstandene Liedtexte ausgesucht. Lest selber, was er daraus gemacht hat...

MISSUNDERSTOOD LYRICS

Good morning Mrs Hendricks, good morning Grade 6.
Have you ever had problems to understand a song text?
Well, I have. When I was in kindergarten we used to sing the german song "Lasset uns Gemeinsam", that means "Let us together...". But I sang every time "Lasset uns gemein sein". I sang it very loud, I loved the song. I never spent many thoughts about the text because "Lasset uns gemein sein" means   "Let us be nasty".

And I´m not the only one who missunderstands lyrics. You can find many pages in the internet just about missheard lyrics. I searched f.e. on the page  www.kissthisguy.com . Here are some funny examples:
The famous song "Imagine" by John Lennon describes a picture of a better world. In the chorus he sings: " And I´m not the only one...". The internet user T.Craft understood: " But I´m not Obi-Wan...".

Maybe Obi Wan and John Lennon work together now
to make this world a better place...

In the famous song from The "Rockie III" - Movie
" Eye of the Tiger " the text says:
"Did my time, took my chances...". E.James, 40 years old,sang the song in the car with his friends. They enjoyed it very much, because E.James sang the song as he always understood it:
 "Donald Duck took my chances..."
 

Some people don´t understand their own national anthem or understand a more sensibel meaning like the 4 year old Calvin. He understood: " Oh Cananda, we stand on cars and freeze.". You probably know that Canada is a very cold country. But the real text is:" Oh Canada, we stand guards and thee..."
